Toric daily lenses are contact lenses for astigmatism, a refractive error of the eye, generally caused by an irregular curvature of the cornea. Because the eye is shaped more like a rugby ball, light rays in one axis (horizontal) are refracted differently than in the other axis (vertical). As a result, the rays of light do not converge in the same focal point, objects appear wider or longer, which we experience as a blurred image. Astigmatism or cylindrical aberration can occur on its own or in association with myopia or hyperopia.
